Ain’t No Accidents, Just Lessons in Disguise

This morning I woke up feeling some type of way. You know that feeling where your spirit is heavy, but you can’t quite put your finger on why? So I sat still. No music, no phone, just me, my breath, and that quiet little voice that always shows up when I finally hush the world.

And it said: “Nothing that happened to you was an accident. Not a single thing.”

Whew.

Even the stuff that hurt? Yep.
Even the folks who walked away? Yep.
Even the doors that slammed so hard they almost knocked the wind out of you? Still yes.

See, life’s got this tricky way of teaching us. Sometimes it’s gentle like a breeze, and sometimes it’s a whole tornado tearing through everything you thought was solid. But either way, the lesson comes. And when it does, it don’t care if you’re ready or not.

Today I’m sitting with the idea that some of the worst moments in my life were really seeds being planted. And now that the dust has settled and I’ve healed up some, I can see the bloom. I can see how that “no” led to something better. How that heartbreak cracked me open just enough to let real love in. How being left alone forced me to get real close to myself.

So, if you’re in the thick of something right now — some mess, some waiting, some ache — don’t rush out of it too fast. Sit with it. Learn what it came to teach you. Trust that it didn’t show up for no reason.

Because ain’t no accidents out here. Just lessons in disguise. And if you’re lucky, you’ll catch the wisdom before it slips by.
